MayDay Marketing recently celebrated our one year anniversary. It's been a long journey, and not one without its bumps and bruises. MayDay Marketing Moves Downtown!!!

MayDay Marketing is proud to announce our new office in downtown Bakersfield on 17th street. We are proud to be part of the downtown business community and look forward to the opportunity to work closer with downtown businesses on marketing their products and services. My favorite stop on one of my many recent downtown tours was the Padre Hotel. They really did a great job renovating the hotel and the attention to detail and customer service were excellent. Once we get settled in the new office we will look at doing a formal open house, for now we are just happy to have our phone lines and internet finally working!!! 2010 is going to be another great year for MayDay Marketing and I want to thank everyone who made 2009 a success. Ring In 2010

2009 is in the past and we are ready for 2010. To start the year off right I am taking the entire company on a trip to New York City next weekend, so the office will be closed from January 7th - January 11th as the entire staff enjoys NYC. I will be able to keep in touch with e-mail on my brand new Iphone 3Gs. I hate to say it, but I have joined the dark side and purchased an Iphone. I don't know why I waited so long, it its the best phone I have every owned and the app store is amazing. MayDay Marketing Client List hits 30

Its hard to believe, but in less then 3 months the MayDay Marketing client list has hit 30 clients. This growth would not be possible without the assistance of MayDay Marketing's newest designer and lead photographer Brittany May. Brittany is handling the majority of new website design and is the liaison for our existing clients. What is the President doing now that he has an employee??? Selling of course. Thanks to all of the great referrals we have received I have stayed busy at client meetings selling new websites and training existing clients on how to manage and maintain their own sites. It has been a great summer so far and I can't believe Savanna starts 2nd grade in less then two weeks.

Life is flying by at an amazing pace and we are doing out best to make the most out of each and every day!!!

MayDay Marketing in July

Summer is flying by, one more month until the kids go back to school. The business continues to grow at a great pace and I thank all of my new customers for investing in my company and allowing us to build your new websites. I also thank everyone for the great referrals, it makes the new business calls so much easier when you can drop the name of a friend or business associate.

I was updating the website portfolio today and am amazed that we have over 20 clients listed on our portfolio in less then 2 months. The response to the product and pricing has been great and the number one complaint I receive at meetings is "Your Too Cheap!!!". That's a good problem to have. I started this business to provide low cost website solutions to individuals and small businesses and I feel so far I have accomplished that goal. I feel that I am really helping companies out by giving them an affordable marketing solution for their business.

Another perk I have found from running my own business is it has provided me with a lot more time to dedicate to local charity projects. I have enjoyed chairing the Active 20-30 Clubs annual ChildSpree event this year where we will buy over 220 local underprivileged children $100 of back to school cloths and new backpacks. I have also had the pleasure to work closely with the Kern County Department of Human Services Heart Gallery team promoting foster parenting and adoption. Through BakersfieldCharityGolf.com, I have been able to assist local non profits on upcoming charity golf fundraising opportunities.

I am not in business to make a lot of money. I am in business to make enough money to provide for my family and to enjoy life to the fullest. I only want to work with clients that I feel I can truly provide a solution to, and I want to enjoy every day of my life, my family, my work and my community while doing it.

MayDay Marketing - Now in Canada

I am proud to announce that MayDay Marketing is now an International Business with the signing of our first client in Canada. We are proud to work with the Young Professionals Group of British Columbia on their new site.

I finally had some time today to sit back and reflect on the last month. I was overlooking my portfolio and was amazed at what I have accomplished in such a short time. It is very gratifying to be creating something new in this world. I have had such great response from everyone I have met with and talked to about my business and I feel that I am really filling a need out there - great design, great functionality and low cost website solutions for individuals and small businesses. I was also reflecting on my past blog posts and feel that I have come a long way in only a month.

I was reflecting on how to control the growth of my company. I had a discussion with a potential client today and was telling him that I am having to strike the balance between sales and service. I don't want to oversell and sacrifice my service, but I need to sell to keep the revenue coming in to support my family. I don't want to be so focused on the revenue that I loose sight of my principles and why I started this business. I want to be know for quality, speed and an affordable solution.

I'm starting to ramble and repeat myself, but I did want to stay on top of this blog because it's an excellent way to express what I am thinking and its a great journal to reflect back on.

I know its only my wife and a few close family and friends that read this now, but as my business grows, I feel this blog will be a great source for new clients and new friends to look back at my jouney from the beginning and discover what I was thinking along the way.

(Wow, that was a lot of reflection for less then 30 official days in busineses)

MayDay Marketing is Expanding

Less then one month into the business, MayDay marketing is expanding and hiring our first employee. MayDay Marketing is proud to annouce that Brittany May will be joining the team as Office Manager / Photographer on July 11th. Brittany will be assisting existing clients with building and updaiting thier sites and will also be the lead photograher for photo shoots. We are excited to welcome Brittany to the team!!!
